General Policy

  • ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Children are to arrive clean and fed.

It is normal for children to be hesitant and sometimes even cry when dropping them off. Please be very brief (no more than 5 minutes is sufficient) during drop off times; the longer you prolong the departure the harder it gets. A smile, cheerful good-bye kiss, and a reassuring word that you will be back is all you need to do.

    HOUSE RULES

The following rules are reinforced for the safety and well-being of everyone. There is no running in the house. There is no hitting, pushing, biting, grabbing, kicking, pinching the other children. Obscene language is not allowed. Children are not allowed to walk around the house with cups or bottles. Respectful treatment of other children and all property, toys, and furniture is expected. Willful destruction of property will be charged to the parent at the cost to replace the item.

    TOYS/ SUPPLIES

We provide a wide variety of playthings. We ask that no toys be brought to daycare from home. Often children have a hard time sharing the toys they bring from home. Parents are responsible for supplying: Bottles, Formula, Baby Food, Diapers & Wipes, A full change of clothing and any other supplies your child may need.

    DAY TRIPS AND OUTINGS

Our center will inform Parents in advance of every field trip, outing, or special event away from the center and will obtain prior written consent from Parents before taking a child on such trip. Such trips will be paid for by parents wanting their wards to participate where required.

    ASSIGNMENTS

Parents are required to sign all Homework and Assignments as an indication of supervision. This will enable the parents to develop a study routine and a learning bond with their wards. It is also to enable parents to assess the performance of their wards and to judge their money’s worth.

     OTHER INFORMATION

    • Parents are required to inform us if they are at any other location than what is listed on their Enrollment Record and to provide a telephone number for that place.
    • Parents are urged to bring their “older” potty-trained children in clothing and shoes that the children can handle mostly on their own without getting very frustrated. Children take pride in being able to care for themselves.
    • No smoking is allowed on premises.
    • Provider will promptly report to the proper authorities any sign of neglect or abuse of the children in care.
    • Parent/Provider conferences are held twice a year, in January and in July

Our Curriculum
Integrated

Young children learn best when they can make connections across many disciplines. All our subjects are integrated throughout our curriculum.

Focus on Literacy

Children with large vocabularies who exhibit phonological and phonemic awareness skills are more likely to become literate. We develop these skills and apply them to phonics, concepts of print, comprehension and writing, laying the foundation for long-term achievement.

Focused on Math

We integrate and emphasize math skills and concepts. Direct instruction, center exploration, games and activities provide a practical approach to applied math that children encounter in everyday life.

Systematic, Spiraled & Scaffolded trips

Children retain new information when it connects with previous knowledge and experiences. New information is presented in a logical and linear fashion. Thereafter, children move from simple concepts to advanced understanding through a continuum where skills and concepts are reviewed, revisited and expanded.

Standards-Based place

Our curriculum establishes clear and developmentally appropriate goals for children’s learning based on our local and international programs.
